On March 29th, please join us at the UDI Okanagan Lunch on Building a Competitive Okanagan: The Role of Informed Urban Land Policy, presented by Michael A. Goldberg, Professor and Dean Emeritus at the UBC Sauder School of Business.

Michael Goldberg is a renowned professor, researcher, author and speaker with an academic and public career that spans four decades. With a PHD in Economics, a professorship of Urban Land Policy in the UBC Sauder School of Business (where he served as Dean from 1991 to 1997) and extensive global research on cities, transportation, housing and land use systems, which has resulted in over 9 books, 200+ academic and professional articles and speaking engagements in over 16 countries, Dr. Goldberg is considered a leading authority on the issue of land development policy.

The Okanagan must compete against other regions for jobs, skilled people, innovation and investment. Dr. Goldberg’s presentation will analyze the competitive landscape, the Okanagan’s strengths and weaknesses and focus on the key role urban land use planning has in fostering a truly competitive region. With insights into what works ………and what doesn’t…… Dr. Goldberg will offer suggestions to enhance the region’s competitiveness and longer term prosperity and nimbleness.
