The Institute encourages wise and efficient land use planning and progressive development practices

Policy

The Urban Development Institute - Pacific Region (UDI) is the premier industry body that represents the interests of over 600 corporate members involved in all facets of land development and planning, who collectively generate more than $30 billion and 250,000 jobs for the provincial economy each year. UDI members are represented by an elected Board of 27 leading industry practitioners responsible for the strategic direction of the Institute.

For over 40 years, UDI has been dedicated to fostering effective communication between the industry, government and the public, and has an extensive policy and technical committee structure to ensure best-practice policy development that is constructive, credible, consultative, and founded on a strict code of ethics. UDI is a “partner in community building” with many municipalities and has several Municipal Liaison Committees throughout BC. In addition, UDI has Legal, Tax and Technical Committees, as well other specialized Subcommittees. For more information on Policy Committees, please contact our head office at 604-669-9585.
